ABOUT THE OMBUDSPERSON

The new Ombudsperson position for the Long Beach Development Services Department was created to help our customers through the permitting process, bring resolution to conflicts or concerns about issues that may arise on individual projects, and facilitate process improvements for customers and staff.

The Ombudsperson acts as an advocate for the customer, answering questions, mediating complaints or issues and coordinating with various citywide departments or bureaus to make customer interactions as trouble-free as possible.

REASONS TO CONTACT THE OMBUDSPERSON

  • If you are experiencing difficulties with the permitting process or getting a permit issued.
  • If you are receiving conflicting information from permit counter staff or other City departments.
