HOUSING DEVELOPMENT FUNDING

Long Beach encourages the production of affordable housing and supports it by providing long-term residual receipts loans to affordable housing developers.  Funding is not available for site or land acquisition.  The City periodically makes funding available through a competitive Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) process.  See below for current funding opportunities.

Low-cost loans are available to repair homes and apartment buildings. More information.

Family Affordable Housing Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA)

The City of Long Beach is pleased to announce the availability of $5 Million dollars for the development of affordable rental housing units for households earning up to 60% of the area median income. The deadline for submitting proposals is 4:00 P.M. on October 10, 2022.

HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) Funds totaling $4 Million are now available to be awarded to qualifieddevelopers for the development of affordable housing in the City of Long Beach. The deadline for submitting proposals is 4:00 P.M. on November 4, 2022.

Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) funds totaling $4 million available to be awarded to qualified local nonprofit organizations/Community Based Development Organizations (CBDO’s). The deadline for submitting proposals is 4:00 P.M. on November 17, 2022.
