Linda F. Tatum, FAICP, is the City’s newly appointed Director of Development Services! Linda will be responsible for overseeing the five bureaus and activities of the department, including Planning, Building and Safety, Code Enforcement, Housing and Neighborhood Services, and Administration and Financial Services. She will manage the City’s Planning Commission, Cultural Heritage Commission, and the Board of Examiners, Appeals & Condemnations. She will also oversee the Successor Agency and Oversight Board, as well as The Long Beach Community Investment Company.
Linda has over 34 years of urban planning, economic and community development experience. She has been serving as the City’s Planning Bureau Manager since 2015, directing and playing an integral role in several key projects. Linda holds a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning, and a bachelor’s degree in Government, both from Florida State University. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, and was recently elected as a Fellow, the highest honor bestowed upon members.
