Shoe & Athletic Clothing Donation at the Long Beach Marathon

Race participants and community members are invited to donate gently used shoes and athletic clothing throughout the LB Marathon weekend. The City of Long Beach Energy & Environmental Services Department, in partnership with WM and Motiv Sports, is once again coordinating this annual collection effort to support local residents and reduce waste through reuse.

Donations can be dropped off at the Long Beach Marathon Expo or the Finish Line Festival. In addition to donated items brought from home, layers and athletic clothing discarded along the race route will also be collected for donation.

All items will be cleaned and redistributed to community members with the support of local non-profit organizations. This effort not only helps neighbors in need but also promotes sustainability by giving usable gear a second life.

Long Beach Marathon Expo
(Long Beach Convention Center – Center Hall C, 400 E Seaside Way, Long Beach, CA 90802)

• October 9, 2026 – 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
• October 10, 2026 – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Finish Line Festival
(Marina Green, 386 E Shoreline Drive, Long Beach, CA 90802)

• October 11, 2026 – 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
