The Expanded Polystyrene Ordinance prevents litter, reduces waste, and improves the health of our City. As a resident, there are many things you can do to reduce waste, including:

• Support businesses working to reduce waste in our Long Beach community.

  • Check out businesses near you that are showing their support for reusables

  • Green Business Program 

  • Certified Blue Restaurant Program

• Bring Your Own

  • Check out our “Bring Your Own Long Beach City”(BYOLBC) page for tips on how to switch from single-use disposables to reusable alternatives and the benefits of doing so.

  • Bringing your own reusable items such as food containers and straws reduces the need for restaurants to purchase disposable alternatives. 

  • Try to only order what you can eat or share with a friend.Bring your own to-go container for any leftovers to avoid the use of single-use containers.
