Vida Latina

A Month-Long Celebration of Latin(e) Heritage

Each year during September and October, Long Beach Public Library presents Vida Latina—our homegrown celebration of Latin(e) culture, stories, and community. Each year we celebrate with special programs and performances, book and media lists, and other activities for library visitors.

The Library also bi-annually hosts Mercadito Literario, a family-friendly book fair and literary festival that highlights Latin American, bilingual, and Spanish-language booksellers, vendors, and community resources.

Visit the Long Beach Public Library during September and October to see all the amazing Vida Latina events happening!

As a public library, LBPL endeavors to be a space that promotes equity and inclusion for all communities, as well as the freedom to read. Conversations on race and culture can be challenging, difficult, and at times, uncomfortable. Books highlighted during cultural heritage months may be perceived as controversial and do not necessarily represent the views of all LBPL staff or the City as a whole.
Vida Latina is made possible by the generous support of the Port of Long Beach and the Long Beach Public Library Foundation.
