Manage Your Library Account

Manage your checkouts, holds, profile information, and more using the Library catalog.

Visit the Library catalog then click "Log In" in the top right corner. Log in to your account and manage your information from there.

Don’t see your question here? Call any Library location or contact us online.

What is a library account?

Your library account gives you quick, online access to your checkouts and library card account information.

Use your account online to:

  • Renew items you have checked out up to 4 times if no one else is waiting.
  • Place holds on items you want to borrow.
  • See when your items are due and check if you have overdue items.
  • Freeze your holds when you are out-of-town or on vacation.
  • View any charges on your account.
  • See if any items on hold are ready for pick up.
  • Create and share book lists.
  • Keep track of your borrowing history (opt-in to enable).

How do I log in to my account? What is my PIN and what if I forget it?

You can log in to your library account from the Library's online catalog.

Log in to your account:

  1. In the upper-right section, select Log in.
  2. On the window that appears, select Sign in.
  3. On the Log in page, enter your library card barcode (on the back of your library card) and your 4-digit PIN.
  4. Select Submit.

Your PIN is a 4-digit password/passcode that you selected for your account.

To change your PIN from the Log in page:

  1. In the upper-right section, select Log in.
  2. On the window that appears, select Sign in.
  3. On the Log in page, select "I forgot my passcode."
  4. Follow the instructions.

How do I place a hold on an item?

  1. Log in to the Library catalog.
  2. Select Place Hold.
  3. Select a pickup location.
  4. (Optional) Select "I don't need this item after", and enter the date that you no longer need the resource.
  5. If the resource isn't fulfilled by the date you enter, the system removes the hold request.
  6. Select Confirm Location to confirm the request.
  7. A confirmation window opens.
  8. To check the status of the resource, go to the Holds tab on My Bookshelf.

How can I view and manage my holds?

Log in to the Library Catalog and open My Bookshelf. Then select the Holds tab.

  • Check your place in the hold line: Each item displays your "Place in line."
  • Cancel a hold request: Click the Cancel Hold button then confirm you want to cancel it.
  • Change a hold pick-up location: Click the Pickup location link and select a new location. Then click the Confirm Location button.
  • Freeze/unfreeze a hold request: Find the item that you want to edit a hold for. Select the down arrow next to the Cancel Hold button, and select Freeze or Unfreeze.

Can I update my notification method for my library account?

You can update your notification method through your online account. We send you reminders when:

  • your item is due soon
  • your item is overdue
  • your hold is ready for pick-up
  • your hold has been canceled
Update notification method:
  1. Log in to the Library catalog. On My Bookshelf, select Profile then select Edit Profile.
  2. Scroll down to Notification Preference then click the dropdown to select your preferred method.
  3. Select Save.

How can I create a list of items I want to review later?

You can save items to the Bookmarks tab on My Bookshelf for later use. You can also create your own lists to organize your saved items.

Watch the Create List instructional video or visit the 'Manage lists' help page for more information.

How can I keep a private list of items I've checked out from the Library?

  1. Log in to the Library catalog.
  2. On My Bookshelf, select Profile.
  3. Select Keep Reading History.

Please note: The default for Library accounts is for the checkout history to be off. You must opt in to activate your checkout history. Your history is private and will only build from the point you opt in. If you change your mind later, you can always opt out and the system will clear all items from your reading history.
