February is Black History Month!

Graphic that reads "BLACK HISTORY MONTH" in a yellow, sans serif font. On the left hand side of the graphic is a red, yellow, and green band of stripes. To the right of the text is an illustration of a woman with an afro. A stylized illustration of Africa can be seen to the right of her face.

The Long Beach Public Library is committed to uplifting the contributions, history, and culture of Black Americans during Black History Month, and throughout the year. This February 2023 we're hosting book talks, special guest storytimes for children, performances, crafts, and cultural events that center the experience, history, and contributions of Black Americans. All are welcome, join us!

See our Event Calendar or download our PDF brochure for all of the fun and educational programs we're planning. In addition, don't forget about collections like Black Voices in OverDrive from our Digital Library.
