Changes to OverDrive

Graphic features the OverDrive logo and a navy blue oval underneath it.
Starting February 1, 2023, patrons will be allowed a maximum of 15 OverDrive items with active holds and 10 OverDrive items checked out. This change does not affect a patron's current active holds and checkouts. Patrons who have more than 15 active holds and/or more than 10 items checked out, will not lose any of those items; they simply will not be able to place an active hold on any additional items or check out any additional items until the totals are below the new threshold. There is no change in the number of suspended OverDrive holds a patron may have. This change also does not affect the number of physical items a patron may have checked out, which is 50, or the number of physical items a patron may have on hold, which is 25. These new OverDrive maximums are consistent with the maximum numbers at many library systems similar in size to LBPL.
