Festival of Lights: Diwali Celebration

Long Beach Public Library (LBPL) is hosting its first Diwali celebration! The event will be held on October 19, 2024 from 2–4 PM at the Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library (5870 Atlantic Ave.).

  • 2 PM – Join us for a discussion about Diwali with authors Alka Joshi and Zara Raheem.
  • 3 PM – Following the author talk, there will be an engaging kathak dance performed by Shivam Arts.

Samadhi Henna will be providing henna art for guests. LBPL is partnering with Bel Canto Books to sell copies of the books from our guest authors. There will also be a book signing. Refreshments will be available. Registration is not required.
