The Long Beach Public Library has teamed up with GetSetUp, the premier online learning service for older adults (aged 55+) to provide hundreds of live online classes to keep you mentally, physically, and socially active. Classes are interactive, easy to join, offered day and night, and free for Long Beach Public Library card holders. Registration is required for the event on January 11. Everyone who registers will receive a recorded version of the event.

“This is a great resource for our senior community and can help older adults live healthier, happier, and more connected lives from the comfort of home,” said Mayor Robert Garcia. “The Library’s continued effort to reach out and provide these services is a testament to their dedication to keep patrons connected.”

The live, virtual classes on topics such as cooking, travel, technology, photography, and much more are taught by instructors who are 55 and older. Choose from a catalog of over 2,000 classes, with more than 500 classes offered every week and more than 40 classes each day during the week and more than 25 each day on the weekend, including classes in Mandarin and Hindi. There are numerous interest groups and lunch groups each day, as well. GetSetUp is available in the Digital Library.

Classes on GetSetUp are available for free to Long Beach Public Library patrons through funding provided by the California State Library as part of the American Rescue Plan Act.
