Join one of our monthly book clubs or author talks to discover new books and enjoy lively, literary conversations.
Join us for an exciting series of virtual talks with bestselling authors from around the world, covering a wide range of fiction and non-fiction genres. The free talks occur 2–4 times a month and include interactive Q&A sessions with the authors. Register and see the complete list of speakers on the LBPL author talks website.

Book Club @ The Miller Room
Please join us for the Miller Room's bi-monthly book club for adults! We are reading a rotating selection of fiction and non-fiction books and short stories relating to various topics on the arts/performing arts, Asian heritage and culture, libraries and special collections, local Long Beach/Southern California area history, and much more. This book club meets on the third Tuesday of every other month from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM in the Miller Room at the Billie Jean King Main Library.

Please join us for the Miller Room's bi-monthly mystery book club for adults! We are reading a rotating selection of fiction and non-fiction books and short stories for fans of mystery (cozy, creepy, or classic), as well as hard-boiled detective fiction, spy espionage, thrillers, true-crime tales, and more. This book club meets on the third Tuesday of every other month from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM in the Miller Room at the Billie Jean King Main Library.

The Bay Shore Book Club meets the third Thursday of the month from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM. This group has been meeting for over 20 years and members take turns choosing titles and hosting the discussion. We read everything from classics to contemporary fiction, from historical family sagas to hard-boiled detective dramas to sci-fi space operas. New members are always welcome!
During Bay Shore Neighborhood Library's renovation, the Bay Shore Book Club will temporarily meet at Los Altos Neighborhood Library.
