Latest Updates - October 2024
The Department of Public Works completed the required plans and specifications for construction of the Marina Green Parking Lot. Construction is anticipated to begin this Fall 2024, with crews aiming to mobilize in October 2024. Slipholders and the general public can expect the following while work is taking place:
- Areas of the parking lot will remain open during construction
- Directional signage will be placed for temporary exit and entry restrictions
- Overnight parking will remain available
- More information will be shared on an ongoing basis as the project advances

August 2024 Update
The Department of Public Works completed the construction documentation to improve the Marina Green Parking Lot. Construction is anticipated to begin in October 2024. Please stay tuned for further updates regarding the construction sequence and schedule. Project updates will also be given at the September meetings for the Marine Advisory Committee and Long Beach Marina Boat Owners Association for those who may be interested.
We are excited to refresh this valuable waterfront amenity and improve coastal access for users!

Project Information
The Marina Green Parking Lot Project upgrades the existing lot with:
- Pavement rehabilitation
- Restriping of parking stalls
- Installation of new accessible curb ramps
- New EV charging stations
- New turn-around installation at the northeast of parking lot to improve area access
Project Goals
This project aims to:
- Refresh the current lot and increase its lifespan
- Enhance coastal access for residents and visitors
- Increase renewable energy facilities through the addition of new public electrical vehicle charging stations
