Leaving City Hall...And Coming To Your HomeRelease Date: 2018-04-12
I’m really looking forward to this next term as your Mayor. And to kick things off I’m leaving City Hall to visit your neighborhood.
In the two months leading up to my second inaugural in July I won't be going to City Hall. I will be spending the nine weeks out in the community, knocking on doors, walking neighborhoods, going to schools, and connecting with folks on their porches and in their homes. Starting with my home district and spending one week in each district, this will be an opportunity to hear directly from residents and discuss the future of our city.
And I’m bringing City Hall to the neighborhoods. Not only will I be knocking on doors and meeting folks every single day, I’m also bringing our top department heads and managers with me. For those nine weeks, all my manager briefings and meetings will be held out in the community - not City Hall.
It’s time for some new walking shoes and don’t be surprised if I knock on your door! The tour starts in May, so stay tuned for all the details, schedule, and events.
