State of the City: Convention Center to Become Vaccination Center

Release Date: 2021-01-13

Last night, I delivered my seventh State of the City address, but this time virtually. I hope you were able to join us.

If you missed it, you can watch it on my website here.

We are living in the midst of the greatest challenge of our generation — last night reflected that. In this State of the City, I spoke about the impact COVID-19 has had on our communities and me personally. I outlined our unprecedented mass vaccination plan, and ways we are going to distribute even more vaccines to frontline and essential workers, and people 65 and over.

I am proud that our Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center is also going to serve as a major vaccination site.

And as we start to inoculate people against COVID-19, priority number one for 2021 is going to be getting our city’s economy back on track.

I love being your Mayor and it’s an honor to serve the people of this city.

Mayor Robert Garcia
