Even More Testing

Release Date: 2020-08-19

Long Beach is combatting this health crisis with every resource we can—and that includes widespread testing. We continue to grow our testing capacity and we can now test more people than ever before. We can provide 1,600 free tests a day across all our sites.

That includes our new site at the Port of Long Beach to make it easy for dock workers, truck drivers and folks who work in our goods movement industry to get tested. Our Port workers are so important to our national economy. They have been working around the clock to deliver critical supplies to every household in America and we must do all we can to keep them safe. Expanding COVID-19 testing on-site at the Port of Long Beach demonstrates our commitment to these hard-working people.

Our thanks to the Port of Long Beach for this partnership.

The City of Long Beach continues to offer free COVID-19 testing at locations throughout the community. For more information about testing and how to get tested yourself, please visit here.

My thanks to the healthcare workers and volunteers who are making all this possible.

We will continue to do all we can to keep our community healthy and safe.

Thank you,

Mayor Robert Garcia
