Long Beach kicks off work on roads, other projects, thanks to new sales tax

Release Date: 2017-03-02

Long Beach officials gathered around Jackson Park on Thursday to kick off some of the first street and sidewalk repairs in infrastructure projects planned over the next several years under Measure A, a 10-year sales tax increase approved by voters in June.

“This investment is going to allow the city of Long Beach to do the kinds of repairs, not just in our parks and on our streets, but also at our libraries and our water systems,” said Mayor Robert Garcia at a Measure A kickoff event in the 8th District.
