PRESCHOOL SESSIONS

NATURE KIDS! SUMMER PRE-SCHOOL

For children ages 3-5 years. Children must be potty-trained. This is not a parent participation class. $107 per week. Sessions take place 10 a.m.-noon.

It’s a beautiful day at the Nature Center! Join us to discover who makes up our neighborhood and their roles in creating habitat harmony.

El Dorado Street

Learn about the animals we call friends and how they work together in special ways. Explore the variety of life that creates our wonderful Nature Center ecosystem.

Once Upon a Nature Trail

Get to know your favorite fairytale creatures on the page and out on the trail! We’ll dive into well-known characters, from the frog prince to the ugly duckling, and learn about the animals at their core.

Artistic Adventures

Put on your creative hat as we explore the great outdoors through song, dance, art, and more! Discover what it’s like to adventure through the lens of a different art form each day of the week.  

Guess Hoot?

Familiarize yourself with the faces of the Nature Center before testing your memory and descriptive skills in a series of classic games!

NATURE KIDS! SUMMER CAMP

For youth ages 5-8 years. Children must have completed kindergarten. $125 per week. Sessions take place 9 a.m.-noon.

Pirate Camp

Just like real pirates, campers must work together with their crew to accomplish challenging tasks like building a boat, making maps and following them to hidden treasure! Adventure and surprises await. Camp held at Colorado Lagoon.

Learning to Fly

Summer’s a great time to take wing. We’ll pollinate, echolocate, and more as we explore the bugs, birds, and bats up in the air at the Nature Center.

Jr. Marine Scientist

What secrets do our local waters hold? Explore local marine life and learn how Long Beach provides excellent habitats for aquatic life of all shapes and sizes! Class held at Colorado Lagoon.

Nature Detectives

Mysterious creatures are hiding in the most unexpected places! It’s up to courageous young detectives like you to deduce the identity of our mystery animal based on puzzling clues.
