ART AND CULTURAL

Ceramics Workshop

Learn basic ceramics techniques: coiling, slabbing, wheel, glazing, mold making and sculpture. All skill levels welcome. We fire to cone 6. Bring notepad, pencil and material fee to first class. Additional supplies will be needed, instructor will provide the list. Ages: 16 and up. Studio fee: $35. Class fee: $70.

Advanced Ceramics Workshop

Advanced course. We fire to cone 6. Experiment with materials and techniques beyond the basic ceramics workshop and complete self directed projects, with guidance. Additional supplies will be available or students who have developed technical sufficiency and have a desire to explore deeper into ceramic processes. Bring samples of work, notepad, pencil, your clay and tools and material fee to first class meeting. Ages: 16 and up. Studio fee: $35. Class fee: $70.

Drawing Fundamentals

In this course, you will learn to draw through a series of skill based exercises. You will learn contour line, positive/negative space, value, shading, perspective, compositions, and more. All skills levels welcome. Instructor will provide materials list. Ages: 16 and up. Class fee: $70.

Beginning Knitting

An introductory class where students will learn the basic knitting stitches, knit and purl, along with how to cast on (start knitting) and bind off (finish knitting). Toward the end of the session, students will begin a simple project. Perfect class for beginners and those looking to pick up the craft again! Ages: 16 and up. $10 materials fee. Class fee: $55; yarn and needles provided.  * No Class 8/11.

COOKING

Basic Cooking For Teens

Students will receive hands-on training in a lecture and  kitchen lab environment. They will learn culinary terms, cooking techniques, kitchen and food safety, kitchen math and basic nutrition. Topics include sautéing, simmering, stir-frying, and more. No prior experience required. Ages: 13-18 years. Class materials fee: $60. Class fee: $130.

40-30-20 Interval Training

A new body, a new you! Lose fat while increasing your  strength, endurance, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness with workouts that  are fun, challenging and never boring. Become lean, agile, strong and toned during 40, 30, and 20 second Tabata Boot Camp-style exercise intervals that  change your body and give you lasting results. B.L.A.S.T. Total Body Fitness

This full-body workout boosts your metabolism, blasts away inches and helps you Become Lean, Agile, Strong, Toned with the perfect combination of strength, cardio and agility/sports movements. El Dorado Park Yoga (Outdoors)

Enjoy Yoga outdoors. Strengthen, relax and restore with asanas, breath work, relaxation and mindfulness in the beautiful El Dorado Park. All levels welcome. Bring a mat and/or blanket. Yoga with Lacey

This all levels, alignment-based yoga class will include various poses and movement focused upon strength, stretch and balance. Row-the-Stadium Camp *NEW*

This Learn-to-Row camp is an intro course where rowers ages 13-18 years will have a chance to try the sport of rowing in a fun and safe way. They will learn rowing terminology, learn how to handle the equipment, develop a basic set of rowing skills and practice race starts on-and-off the beach. Training will take place in one- and two- person ocean boats as well as the typical classic rowing shells. The camp will introduce rowing with focus on both types of rowing that Long Beach will host in the 2028 Olympics: Classic rowing and coastal rowing/beach sprints. Camp will spend time on the beach but starts and ends at the boathouse.  Participants must know how to swim and must wear shoes to each practice. Class fee: $250.
