Ruby Marin-Jordan is an attorney admitted into the New York State bar in 1993. Ms. Marin-Jordan has held positions in almost every aspect of the criminal justice system, as a public defender, law clerk to New York Supreme Court Justices sitting in the Criminal term, as a special counsel to the Deputy Commissioner of Legal Matters in the New York City Police Department, the
first Risk Management Director in the NYPD’s Risk Management Division, as an adjunct professor in the Criminal Justice program in the Borough of Manhattan Community College and lastly as a Deputy General Counsel, Risk Manager in the New York City Department of Correction. 

She has spent nearly 28 years involved in the Criminal Justice System, 18 of those years in law enforcement agencies working as a liaison to federal monitors on a number of consent decrees, as a risk manager with an emphasis on litigation analysis, and as an implementer in new and national best practices. Under her leadership, claims and lawsuits against the New York Police Department declined significantly. She managed, streamlined, and revised the Early Warning System (Performance Monitoring Program) at the NYPD, and created the Department of Correction’s first Early Warning System.

Ms. Marin-Jordan relocated from New York to Long Beach in 2019 and is a member of the Long
Beach community. She was initially hired in 2019 to serve as the Professional Standards Administrator in the Executive Bureau and to oversee the mission and directives under the Office of Constitutional Policing. In 2021, Ms. Marin-Jordan was promoted to the position of Bureau Manager. In this capacity, she oversees the Department’s Administration Bureau which includes the
Information Management (Records) Division, Information Technology Section, Community Engagement Division, and Public Records Compliance Division.
