Detective Division Commander

Commander Scott Jenson began his career with the Long Beach Department as police recruit in 1999. He promoted to sergeant in 2010, to lieutenant in 2021, and to commander in 2022.

Commander Jenson has worked a variety of assignments including Field Training Officer, Domestic Violence detective, Vice Investigations sergeant and Watch Commander. Most notably, Commander Jenson has been an avid instructor with the LBPD as he has been the Field Training Sergeant, an Arrest and Control Techniques Instructor, and a Baton Instructor.

Prior to promoting to Commander, he was assigned to the Patrol Bureau as an Administrative Lieutenant. Commander Jenson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego.
