Homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on April 11, 2026, that resulted in the death of a male adult.
On April 11, 2026 at approximately 8:45 p.m., officers responded to the 6600 block of Cherry Avenue regarding a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim with gunshot wounds to the upper body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel transported the victim to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The suspect(s) fled the scene before officers arrived.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene. The motive and the circumstances of the incident are under investigation.
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending the next of kin notification by the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner.
