Collision Investigation detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify the driver and vehicle involved in a hit-and-run traffic collision that occurred on Feb. 7, 2025 near Pacific Avenue and 7th Street.

The preliminary investigation indicates that on Feb. 7, 2025 at approximately 6:05 p.m., a male adult motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Pacific Avenue on a Honda motorcycle. A black Chevrolet pickup truck, traveling westbound on 7th Street, entered the intersection and collided with the motorcyclist. The driver of the pickup truck did not stop and continued westbound on 7th Street before turning northbound onto Cedar Avenue. It is unclear at this time which vehicle had the right-of-way.

The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

The suspect vehicle is described as a newer model, black Chevrolet pickup truck with 4x4 decals on the panels above both rear tires and likely has front-end damage.

Anyone who may have witnessed this collision or can identify the suspect or suspect vehicle is urged to contact LBPD Collision Investigation Detective Joseph Johnson at (562) 570-7355.  Anonymous tips may be submitted through "LA Crime Stoppers" by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), downloading the "P3 TIPS" app to your smartphone (available at the Apple App store and Google Play), or visiting www.LACrimeStoppers.org.
