UPDATE 7/19/24 at 8:00 p.m.:
Officers have arrested the suspect responsible for the July 18, 2024 sexual battery of two female juveniles. The suspect was identified as George Marquez, a 21-year-old person experiencing homelessness. He was booked for attempted rape, penetration with a foreign object and two warrants for terrorize causing fear and battery. Bail is set at $242,000.

LBPD is seeking the public’s help locating a suspect believed to be responsible for the sexual battery of two female juveniles.
Incident #1 – 7/18/24 at approximately 10:15 a.m., in the area of Carson Street and Atlantic Avenue
The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was on a bus when an unknown male suspect approached her. The suspect and victim exited the bus and after a brief verbal exchange the suspect proceeded to sexually batter the victim.
Incident #2 –7/18/24 at approximately 10:56 a.m., in the area of Artesia Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue
The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was on the bus when an unknown male suspect approached her. The victim exited the bus, and the suspect followed her. The suspect proceeded to sexually batter the victim.

Gender: Male
Race: Hispanic
Height: 5’8”
Weight: 180lbs
Scars/ Marks/ Tattoos: Small tattoos on forearms
