Long Beach Homicide detectives have made an arrest related to a murder investigation.
On Nov. 8, 2025, the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a dead body call in the 2600 block of South Maple Avenue, Los Angeles. The LAPD’s investigation revealed the male adult victim sustained multiple injuries, and it was believed the crime occurred in the City of Long Beach. On Nov. 10, 2025, The LAPD notified the LBPD Homicide Detail who subsequently took over the investigation.
Through LBPD’s Homicide Investigation, detectives determined the crime occurred at the 72nd Street Equestrian Park after the victim and suspect were engaged in a dispute over property.
Detectives identified the suspect responsible for the incident as Jose Raul Gonzalez, a 37-year-old resident of Long Beach. LBPD Special Investigations Division detectives located and arrested Gonzalez on Nov. 13, 2025 in the 500 block of East 72nd Street in the City of Long Beach. He was booked for murder, and his bail is set at $2,000,000.
The identity of the decedent is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.
