Homicide detectives have made an arrest related to the June 1, 2026, murder of 22-year-old Arnoldo Andre Garcia Mendoza.
Through their investigation, Homicide detectives identified Landon Sandoval, an 18-year-old resident of Long Beach, as the suspect responsible for the murder. On June 11, 2026, Special Investigations Division detectives located and arrested Sandoval in the 1400 block of Parade Street. Sandoval was booked for murder, and bail was set at $2,000,000.
The motive and circumstances of the incident remain under investigation.
The victim was identified as Arnoldo Andre Garcia Mendoza, a 22-year-old resident of Long Beach.
Detectives will present the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office for filing consideration.

Homicide detectives are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred on June 1, 2026, that resulted in the death of a male adult victim.
On June 1, 2026, at approximately 8:28 p.m., officers responded to the 1800 block of Harbor Avenue regarding a stabbing.
Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim with a life-threatening stab wound and rendered aid until relieved by Long Beach Fire Department personnel. LBFD personnel transported the victim to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The suspect(s) fled the scene before officers arrived.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene.
At this time, suspect information, circumstances of the assault, and motive remain under investigation.
The decedent’s identity is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin by the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner.
