Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest captured on video surveillance prior to the shooting. The individual was seen walking in the area before the incident and is described as a Black male in his 20s or 30s, wearing a light blue or teal hat, a red shirt, a light-colored zip-up hooded sweater, blue jeans, and black shoes. Detectives believe this individual may frequent the Northpointe Apartments in the 5400 block of Paramount Boulevard. Through further investigation, detectives determined the incident was a robbery that escalated into a shooting, resulting in the homicide of Dajion Hunter.

Homicide detectives are investigating the murder of male adult that occurred on June 27, 2025 in the 5400 block of Paramount Boulevard.
On June 27, 2025 at approximately 7:54 p.m., officers responded to the 5400 block of Paramount Boulevard regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Officers rendered medical aid until they were relieved by Long Beach Fire Department personnel, who ultimately determined the victim deceased.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene. The motive for the shooting and the circumstances of the incident are currently under investigation.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin by the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner.
