Update 01/27/2026:
Homicide detectives have made several arrests 
related to the August 62025 murders of 45-year-old Luis Parra and 24-year-old Josue Pacheco.
 

Through their ongoing investigation, Homicide detectives identified Jesus Arredondo, a 40-year-old resident of Carson, as the suspect in the murder. OJan. 15, 2026, he was arrested by Special Investigation detectives in the 2300 Block of Bellevue Avenue in the City of Los AngelesArredondo was booked into the Long Beach City Jail for murder. His bail is set at $1,000,000.  

Homicide detectives have also identified and arrested several other suspects: 

  • A 17- year -old resident of Carson, who was arrested oJan. 9, 2026, by Special Investigation Division detectives in the 200 Block of West Torrance Boulevard in the City of Carson. His identity is being withheld due to his age. He was booked for aiding someone who committed a felony,and his bail is set for $2,000,000. 

  • Stephen Lee Talbot, a 42-year-old resident of Los Angeleswho was arrested on Jan. 15, 2026 by Special Investigation detectives in the 2100 block of South Patton Street in the City of San Pedro. He was booked for aiding someone who committed a felony, and his bail is set for $2,000,000. 

  • Timothy Garcia, a 35-year-old resident of Harbor City, who was arrested on Jan. 16, 2026 by Special Investigation detectives in the 900 Block of Rosecrans Avenue in the City of Compton.  He was booked for aiding someone who committed a felony, and his bail was set for $2,000,000. 

"These arrests exemplify the focus, expertise, and unwavering commitment demonstrated by our Homicide detectives in ensuring suspects are held accountable for their actions," said Chief of Police Wally Hebeish. "I want to commend them for their thorough investigation and successful apprehension of the suspects believed responsible for these unacceptable acts of violence.”  

Homicide detectives have not determined the motive of the incident. 

Detectives will present the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.

Homicide detectives are investigating the murder of two male adults that occurred on Aug. 6, 2025 near Compton Creek and the 710 freeway.

On Aug. 6, 2025 at approximately 8:36 p.m., officers responded to the area of Compton Creek and the 710 freeway to assist the Long Beach Fire Department regarding a dead body. Upon arrival, officers located two male adult victims with gunshot wounds to the upper body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel determined the victims to be deceased.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene. The motive for the shooting and the circumstances of the incident are currently under investigation.

Both victims were male adults who appeared to be experiencing homelessness. Their identity is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin by the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner.
