Homicide detectives are investigating the murder of a male adult and the attempted murder of another male adult that occurred on Oct. 4, 2025, in the 1300 block of Temple Avenue.
At approximately 10:38 a.m., officers responded to the 1300 block of Temple Avenue regarding an assist fire call. Upon arrival, officers located two male adult victims with stab wounds to the upper body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and determined one victim to be deceased at the scene. They transported the second victim to a local hospital in stable condition. Officers safely arrested the suspect, who remained on scene.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene. The preliminary investigation suggests that the suspect and victims were roommates. The suspect assaulted one of the victims and then assaulted the other. The motive for the stabbings is under investigation.
The suspect is identified as Alejandro Iniestra, a 34-year-old resident of Long Beach, who was booked for murder and attempted murder. His bail was set at $2,000,000.
The decedent’s identity is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin by the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner.
Detectives will present the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.
