Homicide detectives are investigating a Nov. 8, 2025 murder of a female adult victim which possibly occurred in Long Beach.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a male adult suspect and female adult victim were involved in a domestic dispute while inside of a vehicle in the City of Long Beach. The dispute resulted in her death and the suspect is believed to have driven from Long Beach to Tijuana, Mexico, where he turned himself in to Mexican authorities. Mexican authorities located the deceased victim in the vehicle.
The suspect and victim were in a dating relationship.
The suspect was identified as Erik Alcantar, a 44-year-old resident of Long Beach. He was arrested on Nov. 8, 2025 in Tijuana, Mexico.
The victim has been identified as Aracely Romero, a 45-year-old resident of Long Beach.
Detectives presented the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration on Nov. 11, 2025.
