Robbery detectives have made several arrests related to multiple robberies of victims who were minors that occurred in May 2024.
During each of the May 2024 incidents, the suspects approached the victim, yanked their necklace from their neck, and fled the scene in an awaiting vehicle.
After the first robbery, detectives received a tip from a community member, which led them to identify the suspects and later determine that the series of robberies was related.
The suspects were identified as follows:
Marissa Maxie, a 21-year-old resident of Carson, was booked for two counts of robbery and conspiracy. She was arrested on August 13, 2024 in the city of Carson.
A 17-year-old male suspect who was arrested on Sept. 10, 2024 in the city of Lakewood and was booked for six counts of robbery.
A 17-year-old male suspect who was arrested on Oct. 3, 2024 in the city of Long Beach and was booked for five counts of robbery.
Robbery detectives canvased and collected video evidence, contacted community members, and followed all investigative leads to take the suspects into custody.
These arrests are related to the following incidents:
May 17, 2024 at approximately 3:00 p.m. near Harco Street and Los Coyotes Diagonal
May 30, 2024 at approximately 2:53 p.m. near Spring Street and Palo Verde Avenue
May 30, 2024 at approximately 3:00 p.m. near Spring Street and Knoxville Avenue
May 30, 2024 at approximately 3:09 p.m. near Studebaker Road and Keynote Street
Robbery detectives have presented the cases to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.
