Collision Investigation detectives are investigating a collision that occurred on Nov. 20, 2024, which resulted in the death of a female adult pedestrian.

On Nov. 20, 2024 at approximately 6:33 p.m., officers were dispatched to Centralia Street and Bellflower Boulevard regarding an injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Upon the arrival, officers discovered a female adult pedestrian in the roadway who was being treated for injuries by Long Beach Fire Department personnel. Despite lifesaving efforts, the pedestrian was determined to be deceased at the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed a 2014 Jeep Patriot, driven by a 65-year-old resident of Lakewood, was traveling northbound on Bellflower Boulevard and collided with a pedestrian crossing the roadway outside of a crosswalk.

The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Speed, distracted driving, and impaired driving do not appear to have contributed to this collision.

The decedent was identified as Lynnette Aguilar, a 52-year-old resident of Long Beach.
