Collision Investigation detectives are investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred on March 8, 2025 in the area of Long Beach Boulevard and 51st Street.

At approximately 5:10 p.m., officers were in the area of Long Beach Boulevard and 51st Street when they observed a motorcycle rider in the roadway after a possible collision. Officers immediately began to render aid until being relieved by personnel from the Long Beach Fire Department.

The male motorcycle rider was transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The preliminary investigation revealed a Honda CBR 900 motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed, northbound on Long Beach Boulevard, when the rider lost control of the motorcycle at 51st Street and fell to the asphalt prior to colliding with a parked vehicle.

At this time, speed is being considered as a contributing factor in the collision.

The motorcycle rider is being identified as a 55-year-old resident of Long Beach, pending notification of the next of kin by the Los Angeles County Office of the Medical Examiner.
