On Saturday, Nov 22, 2025, at approximately 6:57 p.m., officers responded to the area of Long Beach Boulevard and East San Antonio Drive regarding an injury traffic collision involving three vehicles.

Upon arrival, officers located an unconscious male driver inside a 2005 Nissan Altima in the northbound lanes of Long Beach Boulevard. They attempted life-saving aid until personnel from the Long Beach Fire Department arrived and took over. Despite their efforts, the driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the 2005 Nissan Altima was traveling northbound on Long Beach Boulevard at a high rate of speed when it rear-ended a 2018 Jeep Cherokee. The collision caused the Jeep Cherokee to travel through the pedestrian sidewalk, strike a fire hydrant, and subsequently collide into a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban in a parking lot. The drivers of the Jeep Cherokee and Chevrolet Suburban remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.

At this time, speed and impaired driving are being investigated as factors in this collision.

The identity of the driver of the 2005 Nissan Altima is being withheld, pending notification of the next of kin by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

Anyone who may have witnessed this collision is asked to contact the LBPD Collision Investigation Detail at (562) 570- 7355.
