Collision Investigation detectives are investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred on Nov. 8, 2025, which resulted in the death of a male adult.

At approximately 9:06 p.m., officers responded to the area of Norwalk Boulevard and Wardlow Road regarding an injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers observed Long Beach Fire Department personnel treating a male adult pedestrian, who was then transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The pedestrian later succumbed to his injuries.

The preliminary investigation indicates a white Honda CR-V, driven by a 56-year-old female resident of Garden Grove, was traveling eastbound on Wardlow Road when it struck the pedestrian who was in the roadway outside of any crosswalk. The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigation.

At this time, speed, distracted driving, and driving under the influence are not considered to be contributing factors in the collision.

The identity of the decedent is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
