Collision Investigation detectives are investigating a traffic collision that occurred in the area of West Shoreline Drive and Broadway on March 11, 2026, which resulted in the death of male adult.

At approximately 7:23 p.m., officers responded to an injury traffic collision involving a motorcycle. Personnel from the Long Beach Fire Department were on scene and had determined the motorcyclist deceased.

The preliminary investigation revealed a black 2003 BMW K1200 GT was traveling southbound on West Shoreline Drive and merged onto the Broadway off ramp when the motorist lost control, went over the concrete barrier, and collided with a pole.

At this time, speed is being investigated as a possible factor in this collision.

The identity of the decedent is being withheld pending identification and notification of the next of kin by the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner’s office.
