Collision Investigation Detail detectives are investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred on Sept. 19, 2025, resulting in the death of a male adult.

At approximately 04:05 p.m., officers responded to the area of 67th Street and Paramount Boulevard regarding an injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Upon arrival, Officers located an unconscious male adult. Fire Department personnel arrived shortly thereafter, and despite lifesaving efforts. The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian was walking northbound in the middle of the roadway, outside of the marked crosswalk. The 2019 International semi-truck was proceeding south on 67th Street when it struck the pedestrian. The driver, a 51-year-old resident of Long Beach, remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.

At this time, speed and distracted or impaired driving do not appear to be factors in the collision.

The identity of the decedent is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
