Collision Investigation detectives are investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic collision that occurred on March 29, 2026, resulting in the death of a female adult.

At approximately 3:54 a.m., officers responded to area of 9th Street and Fashion Avenue regarding an injury traffic collision involving a pedestrian.

When officers arrived on scene, they observed Long Beach Fire Department personnel rendering medical aid to an adult female pedestrian and transported her to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The preliminary investigation indicates a white Toyota Tacoma was traveling westbound on 9th Street when it struck a pedestrian in the roadway outside of a crosswalk. The Toyota Tacoma fled the scene.

On March 29, the pedestrian succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. Detectives were notified of the death on April 1, 2026.

At this time, contributing factors in the collision, if any, are under investigation.

The identity of the decedent is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin by the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner’s office.
