Collision Investigation detectives are investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred on Jan. 16, 2026, resulting in the death of a male adult.
At approximately 9:40 p.m. officers responded to the area of Artesia Boulevard and Indiana Avenue regarding a person who was unresponsive in the center median.
Upon arrival, officers discovered an unconscious male adult bicyclist in the center median in the 3300 block of Artesia Boulevard.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel performed life-saving measures and transported the pedestrian to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The preliminary investigation revealed the bicyclist was travelling eastbound in the far-left lane on an electric bike, when the bicyclist possibly lost control hitting the curb of the center median.
The identity of the decedent will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner.
