Collision Investigation Detectives are investigating a traffic collision that occurred on Aug. 1, 2025 which resulted in the death of female adult.
At approximately 9:05 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Atlantic Avenue and 36th Street regarding an injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded and determined the pedestrian deceased at the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling southbound on Atlantic Avenue when the vehicle collided with a pedestrian crossing Atlantic Avenue.
The driver remained on-scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Speed, distracted driving, and impaired driving do not appear to have contributed to this collision.
The Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner will identify the decedent and notify the next of kin.
