Collision investigation detectives are investigating a traffic collision that occurred on June 4, 2024 which resulted in the death of a male adult motorcyclist. 

At approximately 6:09 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Carson Street and Ostrom Avenue, regarding a traffic collision. 

Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and provided medical aid. Fire personnel transported the motorist to a local hospital in critical condition 

The preliminary investigation revealed the 2022 Yamaha Motorcycle was traveling westbound on Carson Street in lane #2 behind another vehicle. A 2007 Ford Edge exited Ostrom Avenue and attempted to make a left turn onto Carson Street. The Yamaha Motorcycle changed lanes into lane #1 and into the Ford Edge. 

On July 12, 2024, detectives were notified of the death of the motorcyclist.  

The Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner will identify the decedent.
