Collision Investigation detectives are investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred on March 27, 2026, resulting in the death of a male adult.

At approximately 7:58 p.m. officers responded to the area of Del Amo Boulevard and Locust Avenue regarding an injury traffic collision involving a pedestrian.

Long Beach Fire Department rendered medical aid and transported a male adult to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The preliminary investigation indicates a 2023 Hyundai Tucson was traveling westbound on Del Amo Boulevard when a pedestrian ran into the lanes of traffic, and he and the vehicle collided.

The driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

At this time, speed, distracted driving, and driving under the influence are not believed to be factors in the collision.

The identity of the decedent is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin by the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner’s office.
