Collision Investigation Detectives are investigating a traffic collision that occurred on July 13, 2025 which resulted in the death of a male adult.

At approximately 6:38 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Golden Avenue regarding an injury traffic collision involving a pedestrian.

Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded and determined the pedestrian deceased at the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling westbound on Pacific Coast Highway when the vehicle collided with a pedestrian crossing Pacific Coast Highway west of Golden Avenue.

The driver remained on-scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Speed, distracted driving, and impaired driving do not appear to have contributed to this collision.

The Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner will identify the decedent and notify the next of kin.
