Collision Investigation Detectives are investigating a traffic collision that occurred on Aug. 6, 2025, which resulted in the death of a male adult.

At approximately 6:07 p.m., officers responded to an injury traffic collision on Pacific Place and Wardlow Road, between a passenger vehicle and a pedestrian.

When officers arrived, Long Beach Fire Department personnel were providing medical aid to the pedestrian. Long Beach Fire Department personnel transported the pedestrian to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The preliminary investigation indicates the pedestrian was walking a bicycle eastbound across Pacific Place, outside of a crosswalk, when he was struck by a 2012 Toyota Corolla travelling northbound.

The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Speed, distracted driving, and impaired driving do not appear to be factors in this collision.

The Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner will identify the decedent and notify the next of kin.

Anyone who may have witnessed this collision is asked to contact LBPD Collision Investigation Detail Detective Efrain Pineda at (562) 570-7355.
