The investigation conducted by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner ruled this incident to be a suicide.

Collision Investigation detectives are investigating a collision that occurred on Nov. 26, 2024, which resulted in the death of a female adult.
At approximately 6:54 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Shoreline Drive and 7th Street regarding an injury traffic collision involving a pedestrian.
Upon officers' arrival, Long Beach Fire Department personnel were already on the scene providing aid to a female adult pedestrian. Despite lifesaving efforts, the pedestrian was determined deceased at the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed a Long Beach Transit bus was traveling northbound on Shoreline Drive, south of 7th Street, when it collided with the pedestrian who was in the roadway, outside of a crosswalk.
The driver of the bus reported the collision. Long Beach Transit is assisting with the investigation.
At this time, speed, distracted driving, and impaired driving do not appear to be factors in the collision.
The pedestrian is only being identified as a female adult. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner will determine her identity and notify her next of kin.
