Collision Investigation detectives are investigating a traffic collision that occurred on Dec. 27, 2025, which resulted in the death of a female adult pedestrian.
At approximately 8:45 p.m., officers responded to the area of West Pacific Coast Highway and Cedar Avenue, regarding an injury traffic collision.
Upon arrival, officers observed Long Beach Fire Department personnel rendering medical aid to an unconscious female adult in the roadway. Fire Department personnel transported the woman to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The preliminary investigation revealed a 2013 Ford Fusion was traveling eastbound on Pacific Coast Highway in the number one lane when it collided with the female pedestrian, who was walking southbound in the marked crosswalk.
The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
At this time, speed, distracted driving, and impaired driving do not appear to have contributed to this collision.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office.
