UPDATE: The below public notice was updated on Thursday, April 10, 2025, to reflect the new deadline date for Request for Qualifications, which is Tuesday, May 27, 2025. Previously, the deadline date was Tuesday, May 20.
Beach, CA – The City of Long Beach is seeking qualified vendors to provide community outreach and engagement services across various sectors, including climate resiliency, equity, public health, housing and homelessness, parks and open space, public safety, technology, transportation and other disciplines.
The City has launched this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) with the goal of enhancing the City’s capacity to implement equitable community outreach strategies and ensuring inclusive participation in City programs and projects, while also improving outreach to historically underserved communities with culturally responsive and accessible communication efforts.
In 2022, the City adopted the Long Beach Strategic Vision 2030 (Strategic Vision), a Citywide plan that guides decision-making and policy direction through 2030. The Strategic Vision specifically outlines the City’s goals in areas such as education, economic opportunity, digital inclusion, housing and homelessness, public safety, mobility, health and environmental sustainability. With an expected increase in programs and projects requiring swift, strategic and equitable community engagement over the next three to five years, the City anticipates the need to partner with external organizations for support and has launched the RFQ in response to this need.
The RFQ will open on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, and will remain open until 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. Qualified organizations are encouraged to submit qualifications through the City’s procurement portal, Long Beach Buys.
Prospective vendors are invited to attend an information session to learn more about the opportunity and receive assistance with registering their organization in Long Beach Buys. Attendees will have the option to attend in person or online via Zoom on the following dates:
Vendors should have demonstrated experience reaching historically underserved communities and offer services that are accessible, culturally responsive, and linguistically appropriate. Those selected will be placed on a list of pre-qualified vendors, which City departments can access on an as-needed basis for community engagement and outreach services. While only pre-approved vendors will be eligible for future work, placement on this list does not guarantee work.
