Long Beach, CA – This May, the City of Long Beach will continue its annual celebration of Bike Month, a nationwide initiative that highlights the many benefits of cycling. Throughout the month, residents and community members are invited to take part in a variety of bike-related activities that promote sustainable transportation, healthy lifestyles and community connection.

“National Bike Month is a time to highlight the many benefits of cycling and our City’s ongoing commitment to sustainable, active transportation. Long Beach has long been a leader in creating bike-friendly infrastructure, and we remain dedicated to expanding access and safety for all who ride,” said Mayor Rex Richardson. “From community bike rides to educational events, this month is an opportunity for residents of all ages to embrace cycling as a fun, healthy and eco-friendly way to explore our city.”

From bike lane clean-ups to family-friendly group rides and the highly anticipated Beach Streets event in West Long Beach, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved, get active and enjoy Long Beach’s award-winning bike-friendly infrastructure.

With a diverse lineup of events, National Bike Month offers something for everyone, whether you’re an experienced cycler or beginner:
