Long Beach, CA - The Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM) will resume adult recreational team sports for slow pitch softball in Men’s, Coed and Senior Divisions. Both online and in-person registration begins on Tuesday, June 8, at 9 a.m.
“City recreation sports like our softball league is another example of how we are now able to get people together, just in time for summer,” said Mayor Robert Garcia.
Games will be played at various Long Beach parks. Individuals must be at least 18 years old to participate in Men’s and Coed Divisions and at least 55 years old to play in Senior Divisions offered below.
Men’s Adult Softball - Weeknight divisions are available. The registration fee is $450 per team plus $15 umpire fee per game. The schedule includes 10 regular season games, along with playoff games for qualifying teams.
Coed Adult Softball - Weeknight and Sunday divisions are available. The weeknight division registration fee is $450 per team plus the umpire fee of $15 per game. The Sunday division registration fee is $350 plus $15 umpire fee per game. Schedules include 10 regular season games, and playoff games for qualifying teams.
Senior Softball - Saturday divisions are available. The registration fee is $265 per team plus $15 per game for the umpire fee. The schedule includes 12 regular season games, along with playoff games for qualifying teams.
For more information or to register a team online, people may visit teamsideline.com/longbeach. Individual players can sign up as free agents via the website. In-person registration for team managers is available at the PRM Sports Office, located on the 2nd Floor of the Recreation Park 18 Clubhouse at 5001 Deukmejian Drive. The office is open Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., phone 562.570.1725 and fax 562.570.1737. Visitors must wear a face covering and follow other COVID-19 safety guidelines.
To ensure the safety of all participants, umpires and players must adhere to Covid-19 protocols for recreational leagues as mandated by the current City Health Order.
