Long Beach, CA – The Long Beach Public Library (LBPL) will soon offer expanded service hours at two additional neighborhood library locations, Burnett Library and El Dorado Library, as part of LBPL’s ongoing commitment to enhancing access to library resources and services for the community.
“Over the past year, we have expanded to six-day service at many of our neighborhood libraries across Long Beach,” said Mayor Rex Richardson. “By providing more accessible hours, we are offering residents the opportunity to learn, grow, and achieve more. We are committed to enhancing our City services to best meet the needs of our community.”
Beginning Monday, April 1, 2024, Burnett Library (560 E. Hill St.) and El Dorado Library (2900 Studebaker Rd.) will offer an additional day of service on Mondays. This expansion of service is made possible through structural and one-time enhancements to Library Services as approved in the City's Adopted Fiscal Year 2023 Budget by the City Council.
In the past year, LBPL has expanded to six days of service at five out of the 12 neighborhood libraries. With the additional day of service at these locations, Long Beach residents will enjoy increased access to vital educational materials, community programs and recreational resources.
The extended service hours at Burnett and El Dorado Neighborhood Libraries will be as follows:
